Ai is a post-doctoral research associate in University of Freiburg.

She graduated from University of Victoria with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with honors in 2011. She then continued her study in Germany where she received her Master’s degree in Psychology from University of Munich and her doctoral degree in Psychology from University of Bamberg in 2017.

Her doctoral thesis was about disentangling the motivation-achievement paradox among immigrant students.

She completed her first post-doctoral project on the development of adult literacy and numeracy skills at GESIS – Leibniz Institute of Social Sciences where she was also intensively trained for her quantitative methodological skills at the department of survey design and methodology.

Since 2020, she works at the department of Educational Science in University of Freiburg.
